Passion is a reflection of my totality and not a result of my job. I can try to do the job of the richest person on earth but if I’m not passionate about what makes him or her ultra rich, it does not mean I’ll be as rich as him or her.

Succeeding in business is not about doing what’s trending or what’s hot today. Success in business is achieved by doing what you’re so passionately about. When you make people know and see that you will keep on doing what you’re passionately about, regardless if they like what you’re doing or not, it just creates an unexplainable aura that attracts people towards you and your business.

Nearly 95 million Filipinos do not see stock investing as a brilliant thing to do in order to prepare for your future. It is not my concern whether 1% or 100% of the Philippine population is interested in the stock market or not. I am more concerned and focused in continuing my social responsibility to this republic, no matter how little, in terms of providing financial literacy for free and for a fee. And that’s what I’m passionate about.

I got a few questions, asking me what’s the best business to put up online these days. When building a business concept, don’t make “What’s hot today?” as your question # 1. It’s a good question, but park it for a discussion later. The number one question you should ask is, “What is that one thing that I will keep on doing despite and in spite of whatever?”

Steve Jobs on Passion

I chose this image of Steve Job’s quote because it matches my outlook on this topic. Here’s what I’d like to tell you, “Do not make your business as your passion. Let your passion become your one and only business. Do what you’re passionate about. Then, money will follow whether you like it or not.”

Do you need my help in finding an ultra specific niche that is aligned with your passion? Something that you can use as a stepping stone in formulating a business idea? Then, what are you passionate about? Please comment below. I’ll respond.

  1. My idea is:

Will it be possible that we will no longer charge our mobile smartphones in the power supply AC outlet?

Meaning the smartphones have built-in power charging mechanism that can be activated thru VHF.

  2. You have this written/posted on July 12.

Are you offering a book? or e-book? a one-on-one mentoring? How do we go about this? Will there be a survey? an assessment of strengths/weaknesses? I believe I’m in a crossroad of my life and career. Yes, I need help in finding an ultra specific niche that is aligned with my passion. But how do I really determine that passion? My past jobs encompassed a “jack of all trade” experience. I’ve tried other businesses and thought this is it but ended up being bored or burned out.

    • Hi Romeo,

      I’m glad you’ve asked.

I don’t offer a book or an e-book. You don’t have to avail of my one-on-one mentoring service regarding this for now. I wrote this article and invited everyone to comment with their questions.

What is that one thing that you would still do even when you are already financially rich?
What is that one thing that puts springs on your feet and fire in your belly every single day?

Answer those questions and you’ll find your passion.

For example, my passion is about computers and in writing. Let’s talk about writing. Writing is one thing that I will still continue doing regardless if people are sharing my articles, liking them on Facebook, or tweeting them on Twitter or not. When I see something that captures my interest, I write about it. You don’t need to throw a laptop in front of me just so I would be forced to write. If there’s one thing one has to remind me about is that I should stop writing for now and take a rest. I don’t need a reminder to START. I need a reminder to STOP or to PAUSE. Now that’s passion!

I have determined my passion in writing. More than 10 years ago, I opened my own content writing business that caters to people and businesses from highly-developed countries, mostly from the US, the UK, and Australia. At first, I did it solo. When I got a good hold of the processes, I formulated my own business concept and put up a company. Today, not only do I enjoy doing what I love doing, I have also helped many Filipinos have a home-based job as writers, marketing specialists, and team leaders.

So, Romeo, would you mind answering these two?

What is that one thing that you would still do even when you are already financially rich?
What is that one thing that puts springs on your feet and fire in your belly every single day?

      Thanks!
