To Defend or Not to Defend Yourself Against an Opposer?

Everyday, prepare your mind that you’ll always encounter rude and ungrateful people. Do you need to defend yourself? No.

I’ve learned in life that defending your point to non-believers won’t make you win them. If they cited 10 bad points about you, and you successfully defended each of those points, you think you were able to change their opinion about you? No. Expect them to cite 10 more bad points about you. And the cycle goes on and on. You only have 24 hours a day. Don’t waste your time.

Three to four years ago, I didn’t know this. I would exhaust myself trying to prove to opposers that I was right. I’ve realized that even if I would bend backwards, they won’t still like me. There are people who just don’t like you no matter what you do. Yeah, that’s the 8th wonder of the world!

No amount of explanation will satisfy an ungrateful person. But to a person who’s appreciative and grateful, no explanation is necessary.
