$PRIM: One-day Ceiling Play, Hello 1.27-1.10 on Monday?

What caused Prime Media Holdings, Inc. (PRIM) to display a ceiling play today, 9 March 2018? There’s no new company disclosure that we may cite for this. CMIC may have already asked PRIM for an explanation for the unusual price movement but I kind of know already the default explanation for unusual price movements like this.

In most cases, press releases are published 24 to 72 hours from the date of the press briefing with the reporters. The insiders and institutional brokers are the usually the ones who get access to the minutes of the briefing immediately after it is concluded. Sorry for the retail investors like you and me.

Anyway, I am not a tabloid writer so let’s move out of the speculation game and allow me to tell you what I know based on the data that I have.

Below is the Daily Chart of PRIM. If I’m going to disregard today’s ceiling play, I will refer to 1.05 as the major support of PRIM. The support’s range is 1.05-1.10.

PRIM’s resistance, considering today’s trading, is near 1.80. Don’t keep your hopes up that much on PRIM. This could be another pump-and-dump game. After all, it’s been in the downtrend channel since 2009 as can be seen on its monthly chart. Nonetheless, I’ve already plotted the in-between support and resistance levels on the Daily Chart below.

Prime Media Holdings Inc (PRIM) - Daily Chart - March 9, 2018

Let’s get into the details. Below is the 5 Minute Chart of PRIM. Surprisingly, the only significant volume I see on PRIM’s 5 Minute Chart is the trade that happened between 2:50 PM and 2:55 PM. No significant volume in the first 5 minutes of trading today. In fact, COL Financial was the active trader of PRIM 5 minutes after the opening bell. I’ll tell you more about this when I discuss my Price-Volume Distribution chart.

To conclude my volume analysis, see the irregularity on the volume chart below. You can barely see the daily volume prior to 9 March 2018.

Prime Media Holdings Inc (PRIM) - Volume - March 9, 2018

Lucky Securities did a cross-trade at 1.58 per share around 2:50 PM with a total volume of 97,178,000. How did I know that it was Lucky Sec? I can see all the details on my Price-Volume Distribution chart generator.

No significant volume followed after that. Apparently, some retail investors fell into the trap, bought shares, and elevated the price from 1.58 to 1.68.

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. (There goes the lizard on my ceiling again.)

Prime Media Holdings Inc (PRIM) - Price-Volume Distribution - March 9, 2018

On a 30-day trading period, PRIM is on a Net Foreign Selling worth PHP31,590.00. Forget about the foreign investors’ participation in PRIM. It won’t matter. They don’t like the stock. How did I know? Isn’t it obvious in the chart below?

I’m going to show you my Top 10 Players charts on four different time frames together with the statistics. I won’t elaborate much on these four charts because I’ve talked about my Top 10 Players chart over 3,000 times in my 3,000+ articles already. You must have memorized my script by now. 🙂

PRIM is an extremely high-risk stock. Because of today’s price movement, my Risk Level calculator has made PRIM a non-newbie-friendly stock.

What’s my recommendation?

Beginners, pick another stock. Not this for now.

Intermediate to advanced traders, you know the drill. Your trailing stop-loss will take care of you. Don’t tell me you don’t know the difference between a full stop-loss and a trailing stop-loss.
