LTG: Respected 18.24, Good Sign to Buy?

Lucio Tan’s LT Group, Inc. (LTG) has been moving in a downtrend channel since it hit 24.50 last 22 January 2018. I thought it would break down below the support at 18.24 last week but it managed to stay afloat above that level, which is also aligned with the position of my long-term SMA, the 200SMA.

Interestingly, LTG’s last price is above the 10SMA and MACD crosses above the signal line (although MACD is still below zero). What does that mean to me? Please read this article I wrote where I talked about the combination of 10SMA and MACD to identify buy and sell signals.

LTG managed to escape the oversold territory as far as the classical interpretation of RSI and Stochastic is concerned.

LT Group - Daily Chart - 2 April 2018

For me, LTG is still not out of the woods unless it breaks out above 20.94 with volume so it’ll gather more momentum for a chance to pierce the next resistance at 22.36. These resistance levels at 20.94 and 22.36 are in confluence with the 38.2 and 61.8 percent Fibonacci retracements, respectively.

Should LTG manage not to sustain this short-term ascent, there’s still a chance for it to re-test the support near 16.40, which is in confluence with the 38.2 percent Fibonacci extension.

As of April 2, 2018, at 03:30PM, the volume is 75.31% of the previous trading day. I prefer seeing the volume crossing the 30-day volume average for me to have a stronger bullish sentiment on LTG’s bullish price change as of 2 April 2018 but the volume did not cross LTG’s 30-day volume average.

I’ll repost my equations for price-volume correlation below for the benefit of my new followers and readers.

  • bullish price + high volume = high sustainability (price)
  • bullish price + low volume = low sustainability (price)
  • bearish price + high volume = high sustainability (price)
  • bearish price + low volume = low sustainability (price)

LT Group - Volume- 2 April 2018

The price at 19.72 garnered the highest volume although the number of trades is relatively small because Macquarie sold 674,300 shares to Credit Suisse at 19.72-apiece. That happened around 3:20 pm.

If you have the time to monitor the intraday price movement of LTG on Tuesday, monitor 19.72. However, your day-job doesn’t allow you to do so, don’t force yourself to become an active trader if your circumstance is against your wish. Active trading is for the people who have the time to monitor the intraday price action. Take note that our local Exchange does not have the automatic stop-loss feature, unlike the foreign Exchanges.
